cadet Program
The second Tuesday of every month the cadets have a meeting and training night that is led by firefighters within the department and surrounding agencies.
The cadet program is a great way for you to see if the fire service is a good fit for you. Once cadet applicants are able to join Osage Fire Protection District they are able to attend monthly meetings with other members of the Osage Fire Protection District and attend and participate in the special events that are hosted with the Fire Protection District. Every third Monday of every month, the Osage Fire Protection District holds a monthly worknight/training night that will help the fire cadets learn about the tools on the trucks and what those tools are used for during fire ground operations and help make sure all equipment is ready to be used for the next call.
The cadet program was established in September of 2014 to introduce the next generation of fire personnel to the fire Service. Cadets between the ages of 14-18 with parents consent can join and get hands-on experience in the volunteer fire department.
During training nights the cadets will perform the skills that probationary firefighters learn in the yearly basic fire class to become firefighters.
